"It's getting dark."
Probably not the best choice for this meme -- this book is full of darn short sentences. But it was the one closest at hand, so there it is.
Got home from work at 5pm. Went directly to the fridge for snacks -- I always need something, since I'm in class for so many hours in a row afternoons. Had a drink on the counter, some leftovers in the popty ping (microwave), getting ready to veg on the couch for a while. However . . . at 5:05, the whole neighborhood loses power.
Couldn't find the flashlight for a long time, had a heck of a time turning off the backup powers for the compter room (I hate beep beep beep). Finally got myself set up with some candles, a generous glass of Gentleman Jack (sans ice) and Harrius Potter. Three hours later the power was restored.
While it was out, I was contemplating the 365 project. How do you represent "darkness" or "powerless" visually? I don't know that I captured it, except that no one reads by candlelight unless they absolutely have to. At any rate, I captured it enough for myself, and I think that's what the 365 project is really about.
